Harlan Foster, son of the late Issac Howard and Susie Foster, was born in Pocahontas, Arkansas on March 8, 1931, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on October 21, 2011, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 13 days.
He had lived in the Sikeston area before moving to Puxico 49 years ago. He attended the Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church near Puxico and was a member of the V.F.W. He was a row crop and livestock farmer and enjoyed camping and being with his grandchildren.
On August 25, 1951, he was married to Nora Launa Long in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on March 15, 1978.
Surviving are his companion, Evadeen Choat of Puxico, Missouri, one son and wife, Jeff & Brenda Foster of Puxico, Missouri; four daughters and husbands, Pat & David Holloway of Puxico, Missouri, Kathy & David Watkins of Oran, Missouri, Janet & Bob Muckerman of St. Louis, Missouri, Leslie & Tony Martin of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Patrick Holloway, Nathan & Jannette Walk, Jason & Rachel Watkins Meystedt, Ethan & Heather Watkins, Jacob Muckerman, Dan & Jessica Muckerman Presson, Zack Martin, Molly Martin, Matt & Miranda Foster, Mark Foster, Hannah Foster; three great grandchildren, Taylor, Presley & Ella; two brothers, Harold Foster of Bloomfield, Missouri, George Foster of Puxico, Missouri; two sisters, Kathryn Ruble of Kansas City, Missouri and Charlene Griffin of Chaffee, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one grandson, John Jesse Walk, and two sisters, Joann Foster and Mary Wooley.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield, Missouri and the Rev. Glenn Epps of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with full Military Honors conducted. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
