Grace Melton, daughter of the late Loyd and Elsie Brooks Hornbuckle, was born in Manila, Arkansas on July 14,1931, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on May 21, 2014, at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 7 days.
She had lived in Southeast Missouri most of her life and moved to Dexter in 1978. She had been a business owner most of her life.
Surviving are two daughters, Lonia Slinkard of Bloomfield, Missouri; Victoria Thomas, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step-sons, Daniel Robinson of Dexter, Missouri, Robbie Robinson of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one brother, Pete Hornbuckle of Grassey, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Slinkard, one step-son, Harold Frank Robinson II, and six brothers and sisters.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Dunklin County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri.
Interment will follow with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
