Golide Hefner

Goldie Marie Hefner, the daughter of the late William S. and Bessie Steward Barks, was born in McGee, Missouri on December 29, 1918, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on July 31, 2008, at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 2 days. Mrs. Hefner had lived in the McGee and Puxico, Missouri area all her life. She was first married to Milford Hendrix and later married Orville Hefner. They both preceded her in death. Surviving are two brothers, Ivan Barks of Cahokia, Illinois, Lloyd Barks of Puxico, Missouri; three sisters, Mary Johnson of Watson, Oklahoma, Irene Hendrix and Bernice Adams both of Puxico, Missouri. Many other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sherman, Joe, and Eli Barks and one sister, Berta Lee Barks. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:30 PM on Sunday August 3, 2008 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008, at 10:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Fagan Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
