Goldie Marie Jennings, the daughter of the late Noah Hardin and Katie Bell Jines Smith, was born in Gray Ridge, Missouri on January 15, 1918, and passed away at the Cypress Point Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on October 1, 2008, at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 16 days.
She had spent over 32 years in Michigan and moved back to Dexter in 1974. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Michigan. She attended the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri.
She was first married to Orville Duncan and he preceded her in death in 1991. She later married Earl Jennings and he also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Mike & Kathy Duncan of Grand Tower, Illinois; three grandchildren, one great grandchild; two brothers, Jerry Lee Smith of Sikeston, Missouri, Charles Raymond Smith of Modesto, California; one sister, Hazel Bannister of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Floyd Smith, Dewey Glenn Smith, and one sister, Virginia Pruitt.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM on Saturday October 4, 2008, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Kevin Eskew of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
