Georgia M. Simpson, daughter of the late Ray and Ethel Wimbeley Wood, was born in Jefferson, Texas on October 19, 1930, and passed away at her home near Puxico, Missouri on August 17, 2013, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 29 days. She had lived in Texas until moving to the Puxico area in 1958. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Puxico, had been a home maker and worked on the farm with her husband. She enjoyed her flowers and watching the hummingbirds. On June 21, 1958, she was married to Harold Simpson in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Surviving are her husband, Harold Simpson of Puxico, Missouri; one son and fiance', Kenneth Simpson and Cathy Hutcheson of Farmington, Missouri; two granddaughters and spouse, Katie Simpson of Farmington, Heather & Donnie Redmond of Coffman, Missouri; one brother, Bennie Ray Wood of Harlingen, Texas; one sister, Sharon Butler of Maumelle, Arkansas; her mother in law, Evelyn Simpson of Puxico, Missouri. Nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive. Visitation will be held on Monday August 19, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Tim Schultz of Wappapello, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
