George Newton Hunsaker, the son of the late Newton and Anna Kimble Hunsaker, was born in Essex, Missouri on September 25, 1945, and passed away at his son's home in Henley, Missouri on October 13, 2008, at the age of 63 years 19 days.
Mr. Hunsaker had lived in Essex and Dexter, Missouri before moving to Eugene, Missouri. He had worked for over twenty years as a police officer before being injured in the line of duty. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Who's Who in American Law Enforcement, National Association of Chief's of Police, and received the Legion of Honor Award from the American Law Enforcement Officers Association for injuries received in the line of duty.
On August 10, 1963, he was married to Donna Davis in Dexter, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Hunsaker of Eugene, Missouri; one son and daughter in law, Cameron & Angie Hunsaker of Henley, Missouri; two daughters and son in law, Kymberly Hunsaker of Eugene, Missouri, Karen & Toby Wallace of Gulf Shores, Alabama; four grandchildren; four sisters, Virginia Sherfield, Pansy , Linda Christian, Glenda Fowler; four brothers, Alvin, Bill, Gene & Jerry Hunsaker. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren Hunsaker, and four brothers, John David, James, Burl and Ralph Hunsaker.
Friends may call on Saturday October 18, 2008, after 10:00 AM at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at 1:00 PM at the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with the Rev. Leonard Madigan of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow at the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
