Gary Lee Richard, son of the late John W. and Eva Duren Richard, was born in Asherville, Missouri on June 8, 1949, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on June 20, 2014, at the age of 65 years and 12 days.
He had lived in the Puxico and Poplar Bluff area all his life. He had worked as the circulation director at the DAR newspaper and had owned and operated Richard's Aquarium and Trophy Shop in Poplar Bluff. For many years he was active in the Boy Scouts of America. He loved to hunt, fish, trap and spend time with his family.
Surviving are one son, Gary D. Richard of Puxico; two grandsons, Aaron and Hunter Richard; one granddaughter, Phoenix Richard; one brother, Jerry Richard of Wappapello; . Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Billy Joe Richard, twins, John L & Clide Richard and Arvel Dean Richard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 24, 2014, after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 24, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Buck Cruse of Puxico officiating.
Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
