Frances J. Houart Mitchell, daughter of the late Charles Earl and Elsie Bond Houart, was born in Perkins, Missouri on September 27, 1938, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on July 4, 2015, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 8 days.
She had lived in Bloomfield for many years before moving to Dexter in 1989. She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Dexter. She spent her life as a loving mother and homemaker for her family.
On January 1, 1973, Frances was married to Johnny Mitchell in Dexter. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1982.
Surviving are four sons, Steve Houart of Bernie, Ronnie Houart, Ricky Joe Bracken and Allen Mitchell all of Dexter; one daughter, Sarina Cope of Morley, Missouri; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Earl Houart, Jr. of Dexter, William Paul Houart of Fredericktown, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Lemons of Brunswick, Ohio and Jane Mobley of Doniphan, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister Billie Presley.
Friends may visit on Monday, July 6, 2015, after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be on Monday, July 6, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Dewight Hensley of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow at the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter handling all arrangements.
