Floyd James Hoffman, son of the late Elmer Henry and Mina Molly Neal Hoffman, was born in Dexter, Missouri on June 11, 1924, and passed away at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on November 21, 2007, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 10 days.
Mr. Hoffman had lived most of his life in Dexter, Missouri. He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Dexter, Missouri. He was a retired parts department manager and had worked for Sigler Chevrolet, Evan's Buick and retired from Allen Christian Buick Pontiac GMC in Dexter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, had served overseas during WWII and received two bronze stars.
On September 29, 1942, he was married to Irene Grim in Piggott, Arkansas.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Hoffman of Dexter, Missouri; three daughters and sons in law, Judy and Jim Cochran of Doniphan, Missouri, Jane Cathey, Susan and Steve Watkins all of Dexter, Missouri; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Henry Hoffman, Jr. and Robert Lee Hoffman.
Friends may call on Friday, November 23, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 24, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Tom Bass of Cape Girardeau, Missouri officiating and the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter assisting.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
