Floyd L. Hodge, son of the late Thomas and Ethel Miller Hodge was born in Fisk, Missouri on November 26, 1918, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on November 16, 2011, at the age of 92 years, 11 months and 21 days.
Mr. Hodge was a lifelong resident of the Puxico area. He was a member of the Egypt Community Church. He most enjoyed fishing, rabbit and coon hunting. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII.
He was married to Flora Stovall on January 11, 1947, in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death in September 2011.
He is survived by three daughters, Sherry Ann and son-in-law Wayne Burchett of Puxico, Missouri, Bonnie Dixon and Kaleta Farr both of Manteca, California; one son, Dewayne Hodge of Cripple Creek, Colorado; two grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one sister, Opal Lee Cookson of Puxico, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceding in death by one brother; Frank Hodge and two sisters Ruby Page and Virginia Mae Holloway.
Friends may call on Thursday, November 17, 2011, after 6:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, 2011, with full military honors at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Wayne Burchett of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
