Floyd Gene Christian

Gene Christian, the son of the late Dewey and Florence Ellis Christian, and was raised by the late Mary Wells Christian, was born in Dexter, Missouri on March 1, 1937, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on August 9, 2006, at the age of 69 years, 5 months, and 8 days. He had lived in Dexter, Missouri all his life and was a retired farmer. He was married to Margaret Whitaker. Surviving are two sons, Terry Gene Christian of Dexter, Missouri; Michael Joe Christian of Whittier, California; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Eloise Nicholson of Walls, Mississippi, Norma James of Dexter, Missouri, Peggy Sielert of Dexter, Missouri; three brother, Willie Meeks of St. Charles, Missouri, Donnie and Charles Meeks both of Alton, Illinois. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Dewey Christian, Jr., Jess Christian, John Christian, Dean Christian and one sister, Lillie Mae Foster. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 11, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2006, at 11:00 A.M. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
