Florence Bockhorst

Florence P. Bockhorst, daughter of the late Dr. John Fairman and Anne Wiley Preston, was born in Salisbury, North Carolina on September 16, 1911, and passed away at her home in Dexter, Missouri on October 9, 2010, at the age of 99 years. Mrs. Bockhorst was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood, Missouri and a member of the Women's Club of Washington University. On September 2, 1938, she was married to Roland Walter Bockhorst in Montreat, North Carolina. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1995. Surviving are four children, Roland P. Bockhorst of Hereford, Arizona, Fairman K. Bockhorst of Inverness, Florida, Rhea W. Bockhorst of Marietta, Georgia, Mary Anne Hawley of Dexter, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by five brothers & sisters, John F. Preston, Miriam St. Clair, Shannon Cumming, William Preston and Rhea Preston. There are no services scheduled at this time with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
