Everett Eugene Nunn, son of the late Proctor and Ada Cawhorn Nunn, was born in Point Pleasant, Missouri on June 29, 1926, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Wednesday January 13, 2010, at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 15 days. He had lived in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Dexter in 1990. He retired from General Motors where he worked as an inspector. He attended the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. He served in the US Army during WWll. He was a Mason and member of the Mizpah Mt. Moriah Lodge #40 in Florissant, Missouri. He was a member of the American Legion in Malden, Missouri, and VFW also in Malden, Missouri. He enjoyed playing the guitar, tending to his garden and his family was very special to him. On November 3, 1948, he was married to Geraldine Morgan in Piggott, Ark. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Nunn of Dexter, Missouri; four daughters, Debbie Stroup of Dexter, Missouri, Cheryl Homyer, and Pam Orlando both of St. Louis, Missouri, Patricia Mirth of Bernie, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Melissa Whitaker and April Hartle, of Dexter, Missouri, Justin & Chrystal Ashcraft both of St. Louis, Angela Homyer of Granite City, Illinois, Ashley & Amber Mirth of Bernie, Missouri, five great-grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry E. Nunn, four brothers, Norvell, Robert, J.W. and John Nunn; two sisters, Pauline Brock and Willene Brewer. Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 10:00 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Josh Carpenter of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Mound's Park Cemetery near Lilbourn, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
