Lyman Cookson, son of the late Everett and Tincy Harris Cookson, was born in Puxico, Missouri on July 15, 1940, and passed away at the St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri on August 1, 2008, at the age of 68 years and 17 days.
Mr. Cookson had lived in Puxico, Missouri before moving to Granite City, Illinois and had lived in St. Clair, Missouri the past several years. He enjoyed riding his Harley.
Surviving are three sons, Tim Harbin of Puxico, Missouri, Scott Cookson and Brad Cookson both of Granite City, Illinois; one daughter, Marva Cookson of Dexter, Missouri; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Marvell Wheetley of Puxico, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewain Cookson in 1981 and Billy Gene Cookson in 2006.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 4, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Chuck Clark of Union, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
