Evelyn G. Parker, daughter of the late Thomas Hutson and Lillie Gertrude Singleton Parker, was born in Parma, Missouri on November 5, 1933, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on December 3, 2010, at the age of 77 years and 28 days.
She was raised in Parma, Missouri where she graduated from High School and had lived in Michigan, Illinois, California, Florida before moving to Benton, Missouri in 2005. She had worked as self employed nanny. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She published a monthly newsletter for the Melborn, Florida Retirement Home and also framed pictures.
Surviving are two sons, Philip Nichols of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert Nichols of Oregon; two grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Headd of Benton, Missouri, Cleta Hillygus and Rita Hodge both of Bakersfield, California; three brothers, Aaron Parker of Medford, Oregon, John Parker of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Lenon Parker of Bakersfield, California. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas H. Nichols; two brothers, Thomas and Ronald Parker; and one sister, Lena Ruth Parker.
Visitation will be Monday, December 6, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Parma, Missouri.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma, Missouri with the Rev. Carl O'Dell, Sr. of Parma, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Parma Cemetery in Parma, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.
