Eugene "Gene" Perry, son of the late Walter and Viola Pruitt Perry, was born in Avert, Missouri on June 13, 1923, and passed away at his home in Bloomfield, Missouri on March 15, 2011, at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 2 days. Mr. Perry had lived in Bloomfield all of his life. He had worked at Elders Manufacturing. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a member of the Amvets. On October 12, 1946, he was married to Mamie Darby in Piggott, Arkansas. Surviving are his wife, Mamie Perry of Bloomfield, Missouri; one son, Alan Perry of Bridgeton, Missouri, two grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Judy Giambelluca of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Imogene Laughlin of Florissant, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas & Delbert Perry, two sisters, Ruthie Carter and Beatrice Carter. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 18, 2011, at 1:00 pm in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Kevin Eskew of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
