Eugene Raymond Harper, the son of the late Henry E. and Ortie Reynolds Harper, was born in Visalia, California on April 23, 1925, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikestson, Missouri on January 5, 2009, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Mr. Harper had lived in the Morehouse, Missouri area most all his life and was raised by his uncle, Sam Robey in Morehouse. He was retired from the Himmelburger-Harrison Furniture Manufacturing Co. in Morehouse, Missouri. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and the Korean War.
In 1964, he was married to Maxine Stroud in Bloomfield, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2007.
Surviving are his care giver, Gene Annesser of Sikeston, Missouri; one brother, James Harper of Festus, Missouri, many nieces and nephews. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Dupre.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009, at 10:30 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Morehouse, Missouri with the Rev. Rick Breeden of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
