Ettie Gladys Townsend

Ettie Gladys Townsend, the daughter of the late Ralph and Bertie Crabb Spear, was born in Puxico, Missouri on January 18, 1914, and passed away in Benton, Arkansas on August 4, 2006, at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 17 days. Mrs. Townsend had lived in the Puxico area most of her life until moving to Benton, Arkansas several years ago. On July 24, 1934, she was married to Orville Townsend in Puxico, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1969. Surviving are three daughters, Orvilla June Altis and Joyce Moore both of Puxico, Missouri, Rita Mantel of Matthews, Missouri; twenty-five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two brothers: Elmer Spear of Puxico, Missouri, Harrison Spear of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and one sister: Freida Null of Matthews, Missouri. Other friends and relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Harold Spear and one sister, Lois Townsend. A private interment will be in the Fagan Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
