Ettie Lee Mayo, daughter of the late Raymond DeJournett and Vivian Swan DeJournett Rogers, was born near Idalia, Missouri on May 18, 1932, and passed away at the Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri on September 24, 2015, at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 6 days.
She had lived in the Bloomfield area all of her life. She was a member of the St. Joe General Baptist Church in Idalia. She had worked as a side seamer at Elder Manufacturing for 43 years.
On May 13, 1950, she was married to Claude Junior Mayo in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on February 11, 1980.
Surviving are three daughters and husbands, Dawn Towe & Jim Corzine of Bloomfield, Missouri, Claudine & Jim Walton of Spring Hill, Florida, Deborah & Ronnie Cheatham of Sikeston, Missouri; ten grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three brothers, Larry Rogers of Dexter, J. D. DeJournett of Davison, Michigan, Henry Rogers, Jr. of Todahl, Arizona; three sisters, Bertha Johnson of Bloomfield, Ella Calwell of Bernie and Doris Zillich of Davison, Michigan. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Evans, two brothers, Raymond DeJournett, Floyd Rogers, four sisters, Betty Faulkner, Louise Cox, Freda Lilly and Lucille Gross.
Friends may visit on Saturday, September 26, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the
Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Greg Stevens of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will follow at the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
