Ethel Juanita Hillis, daughter of the late Edgar A. and Mary Elizabeth Wood Bandy, was born in Charleston, Missouri on July 25, 1919, and passed away at the Clark's Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont, Missouri on February 27, 2011, at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 2 days.
She had lived in Tucson, Arizona and St. Louis, Missouri, where she worked as a secretary. She moved Dexter, Missouri in 1984, and moved to Piedmont, Missouri to be closer to her daughter a short time ago.
On October 7, 1942, she was married to Bervil G. Hillis. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1974.
Surviving are one daughter, Sue Mills of Piedmont, Missouri; two grandchildren, Michelle Bredemeier and Bervil Hillis, two step-grandchildren, Nicholas Andrews and Amanda Hunter; and one great-granddaughter, Lily Bredemeier.. Many other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Eddie Hillis; one daughter, Bernita Marshall; four brothers; and one grandson
Friends may visit on Saturday, March 12, 2011, after 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Jim McCullen of Piedmont, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
