Estol Lee Lowe, son of the late Ira Charles & Gertrude Maude Hutchison Lowe, was born in Philadelphia, Missouri on October 20, 1927, and passed into heaven at the John J. Pershing VAMC in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on July 18, 2010, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 28 days.
Mr. Lowe had lived in Wyoming, North & South Dakota, Montana & Utah before moving to Bloomfield, Missouri in 1969. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and served for many years beginning at age 16. He was "a proud marine" and was loved dearly by his family. A wonderful Christian has left us for heaven. He was a life member of the D.A.V. Chapter 47 in Dexter, Missouri, the American Legion Post in Bloomfield, the Puxico V.F.W. and was an avid Cardinals fan, win or lose.
On August 25, 1969, he was married to Ellen Marie Smith Rainwater in Festus, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Ellen Lowe of Bloomfield, Missouri; children, Barbara & Jim Link of Asherville, Missouri, Thomas & Theresa Rainwater of Jackson, Missouri; grandchildren, Richard & Margo Link, Bryan Rainwater, Laura & David Hobbs, Sonya & Ross Bjork, Tonya & Michael Covington, and Amy Calice; great grandchildren, Joshua Link, Halona Link, Adam Link, Brandon Link, Reed Link, Austin Link, Kristin Calice, Allison Smith, Truman Hobbs, Blake Covington and Payton Bjork; great great granddaughter, Brooklyn Link; many nieces & nephews. Other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 21, 2010, after 9:00 AM at Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Dexter, Missouri.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at 10 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with VA Chaplain, Bill Hatch of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full Military Honors conducted by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Guard and Missouri Military Honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
