Essie Crank, daughter of the late Hosea W. & Mary Parks Crank, was born in Malden, Missouri on March 9, 1921, and passed away at the Southern Missouri Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on February 19, 2011, at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 10 days.
She had lived in Pontiac, Michigan from 1944 to 1980, then moving to Dexter, Missouri. She had taught bible study at Central Gardens in Dexter, Missouri every Sunday for many years.
On September 3, 1938, she was married to J. D. Crank in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1995.
Surviving are twelve grandchildren; eightteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; and one sister, Lula Orr of Pontiac, Michigan. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Alumbaugh; two sons, Darrell "Red" Crank and Jimmie D. Crank; two sisters, Aline Lynn, Irene Heacock.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2011, after 12:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Services will be held Tuesday, Febraury 22, 2011, at 2:00 pm in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Ray Rowland of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
