Emmer Jackson, daughter of the late Raymond and Francis Witherspoon Gay, was born in Forrest City, Arkansas on February 11, 1929, and passed away at the St. Sophia Nursing Home in Florissant, Missouri on May 12, 2007, at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 1 day.
Mrs. Jackson had lived in Oran, Missouri for many years and moved to St. Louis a short time ago. She was a member of the Church of God in Bell Cty, Missouri.
On April 23, 1949, she was married to Ernest James "E.J." Jackson in Bloomfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2001.
Surviving are five sons, Thomas (Alta) Jackson of Noblesville, Indiana, Raymond (Marcia) Jackson of St. Louis, Missouri, Timmy (Debbie) Jackson of Perryville, Maryland, Gary Jackson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Earnest (Kamaljit) Jackson of Kenosha, Wisconsin, four daughters, Kathy Heady of Haywood City, Missouri, Mattie Jackson of Noblesville, Indiana, Norma Jackson and Flora Jackson both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 23 grandchildren, 26 grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Gay of Bernie, Missouri; two sisters, Mattie Ayers and Flora Harris both of Detroit, Michigan; two step-daughters, Falisha Winston of Haywood City, Missouri and Elizabeth Nance of Peoria, Illinois. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Bishop Lue Turner Gay.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the House of Prayer Church of God in Christ in Parma, Missouri with Elder Ronald Pulley of Sikeston, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
