Elva Townsend

Elva Townsend, daughter of the late Bill and Fannie Bright Stacy, was born in Leora, Missouri on January 9, 1922, and passed away at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 1, 2009, at the age of 87 years. Mrs. Townsend had lived in the Bloomfield area all her life. She was married to Norman Townsend, he died on Oct. 30, 1983. Surviving are one son, Johnny Townsend of Bloomfield; and one granddaugher, Hannah Carpenter of Alton, Illinois. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Sunday April 5, 2009, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at 2:00 PM in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the George Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
