Elsie Abigail Patterson, daughter of the late Charles and Maudie Moss Cowell was born in Pope Co. Arkansas, on January 30, 1914, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Health Care in Dexter, Missouri on January 31, 2010, at the age of 96 years and 1 day.
She had lived in Arkansas before moving to Missouri in 1937. She lived in New Madrid, Bell City, Vanduser, and Dexter Missouri. She was a member of the First Church of God in Dexter, was a Homemaker and a excellent quilter.
On November 18, 1933, she was married to Clarence Elmar Patterson in Lamar, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1994.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Mearle Patterson of Independence, Missouri, Hollis & Jeanete Patterson of Jackson, Missouri, Larry & Janice Patterson of Dexter, Missouri; five grandchildren, Vicki Moss of Osceola, Missouri, Dawn Ritchie of Rexburg, Idaho, Larry Patterson Jr. & Grayson Patterson of Jackson, Missouri, Anthony Patterson of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Creighton Patterson of Franklin, Tennessee; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Geneva Keith of Vanduser, Missouri, and Winona Griffin of Bloomfield, Missouri. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by four brothers Troy, Louis, Lloyd, and Charlie Cowell, and two sisters Beulah Cook, and Hazel Hardman.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2010, after 10:30 AM at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Services will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at 1:00 PM at Watkins & Sons Chaple in Dexter with the Rev. Leonard Madigan of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Dudley Cemetery at Dudley Missouri, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
