Eldrid Clipperton, son of the late Norval H. and Hazel Blakeman Clipperton, was born in Pasadena, California on August 28, 1919, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on March 13, 2011, at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 13 days.
Mr. Clipperton had lived in Mesa, Arizona for 33 years and moved to Bloomfield a year ago. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mesa, Arizona. He had worked as a manager with Northrop-Gruman Corp. He was the Captain of a B-17 Bomber in the U. S. Air Force during WWII where he flew 32 missions.
He was married to Dona Coleman Fisk in Idaho.
Surviving are his wife, Dona Clipperton of Bloomfield, Missouri; two daughters, Dee Anne Hayes of Bloomfield, Missouri, Janice Tewell of Spokane, Washington; four sons, Ron Clipperton of Spokane, Washington, Curtis Clipperton of San Antonio, Texas, Doug Clipperton of Mojave, California, Leslie Fisk of Pine Grove, California; and numerous grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 18, 2011, at 11:00 AM in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Dwight Hensley of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
