Edward Temples, son of the late Charlie and Mary McClard Temples, was born in Stoddard County, Missouri on August 25, 1916, and passed away at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on October 21, 2007, at the age of 91 years, 1 month and 26 days. Mr. Temples had spent 45 years in Pontiac, Michigan where he worked as the head serviceman for the Sears Company. He moved back to Dexter in 1981 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. He and his wife moved to Cape Girardeau two years ago. On October 2, 1937, he was married to Geraldine "Jerri Ann" Webb in Bloomfield, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine "Jerri Ann" Temples of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; three sisters, Addie Thieke of Kokomo, Indiana, Charlene Middleton and Evelyn Hunt both of Dexter, Missouri; two sisters in law, Beverly Hunter of Dexter, Missouri, Shirley Burt of Laguna Woods, California and two brothers in law, Fred Burt of Laguna Woods, California and Larry Webb of California. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Corlies, Julia Ivester, Naomi Miller, Gladys Spore; and three brothers, Sam Temples, Tom Temples and Fred Temples. Friends may call on Thursday October 25, 2007, from 9:00 AM until time of services at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Graveside Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 25, 2007, at 10:00 AM at the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Dr. Curtis T. Porter, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
