Dwight Russell McQuary passed away on November 20, 2012 at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 79 years. He was the son of the late Broyles Sumner and Ada Ray McQuary. Born on July 31, 1933 in Dexter, he graduated from Dexter High School then joined the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean conflict. He then attended Logan College in St. Louis, Missouri and returned to Dexter to start a chiropractic practice until he was hired by Shelter Insurance as a claims adjuster. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1969 to continue his career with Shelter Insurance until he retired. In 1990 he moved back to Dexter and married Muriel Joy Kilmer, who preceded him in death in 2006. Mr. McQuary is survived by three sons & spouses, Mark McQuary (Carolyn) of Tallahassee, Florida; John McQuary (Ana) of Stuttgart, Germany; David McQuary (Susan) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne McQuary. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, Missouri, with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 14, 2012, with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
