Doyle Leo "Bro. Honey" Stogsdill, son of the late Charles and Myrtol Rayfield Stogsdill, was born in Ellington, Missouri on March 23, 1934, and passed away at his home in Bloomfield, Missouri on February 7, 2011, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 15 days.
Mr. Stogsdill served in the U. S. Marines as a Chaplain's assistant. He retired from American Can in St. Louis, Missouri in 1973. He had pastored several churches in the area and retired from the Bell City General Baptist Church in 1994, where he is still a member. Bro. Honey blessed many with his ministry and piano playing.
On June 16, 1962 he was married to Barbara Jane McFarland in Gray Ridge, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jane Stogsdill of Bloomfield, Missouri; one daugher & spouse, Ramona & Robert Feezor of Barlow, Kentucky; three sons & spouses, Steve & Cheryl Stogsdill of Ledbetter, Kentucky, Rusty & Rhonda Stogsdill and Rodney & Debbie Stogsdill all of Bloomfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Bailey & Daniel Feezor of Barlow, Kentucky, Kristi (John) Moon of New Concord, Kentucky, Joshua Stogsdill of Ledbetter, Kentucky, Drew (Lynn) Shipman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Gage & John Paul Stogsdill of Bloomfield, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Isaac & Faith Feezor of Barlow, Kentucky, Kinsley & Kiley Moon of New Concord, Kentucky, one sister, Lorene Bounds of Fredericktown, Missouri, two brothers, Hayden Stogsdill of Florissant, Missouri, and Beacher Stogsdill of LaCenter, Washington. Other relatives and many friends also survive.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at 1:30 PM in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. William Culp and Rev. Bob Bradford officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements. Full military honors will be provided by Missouri Military Honors & American Legion Post 59 of Dexter, Missouri.
