Stelline Gross Tyler, the daughter of the late John and Jessie Darney Scott, was born in Coal Hill, Arkansas on December 19, 1924, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on May 3, 2009, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 14 days.
Mrs. Tyler had lived in California from 1956 to 1980, when she moved to Grayridge, Missouri. She was a member of the Grayridge General Baptist Church.
She was first married to William Cyrus Gross, he preceded her in death on February 11, 1969. She then married Ray D. Tyler and he preceded her in death on August 16. 1978.
Surviving are two daughters, Dortha Shutic of Mequon, Wisconsin, Bertha Ripperdan of Ft. Myers, Florida; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, James Scott of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Joe Scott of Grayridge, Missouri; four sisters, Auline Crabtree of Hartman, Arkansas, Lourean Rasey of Dexter, Missouri, Johnnie Davis of Grayridge, Missouri and Querita Marvel of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Gosling on October 16, 2004.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at 10:30 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Robert Lafferty of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be at 1:30 PM in the Macey Cemetery in Monette, Arkansas with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
