Dorris Turlington, the daughter of the late William Thomas Eaton and Ada Mae Dorris Eaton, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on October 21, 1919, and passed away at the Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Missouri on January 23, 2008, at the age of 91 years, 3 months and 2 days.
Mrs. Turlington had lived in Bloomfield and Dexter, Missouri all of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. She had served as the librarian at the Dexter Public Library for 30 years.
On September 5, 1936, she was married to Grundy Turlington in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2003.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Pam Turlington of Dexter, Missouri; two grandsons, Todd Turlington of Jackson, Missouri, Tim Turlington of Mexico, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Kali and Sidney Turlington of Mexico, Missouri, Ryan Turlington and Katie Christian both of Jackson, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Carlton Eaton and two sisters, Murl Long and Edith Palmer.
Graveside Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28, 2008, at 2:00 PM at the Committal Shelter it the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Dr. Curtis Porter of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
