Dorothy Marchant, daughter of the late Walter Lee and Emma Leona Dennison Bell, was born in Dexter, Missouri on October 2, 1931, and passed away at her home in Dexter, Missouri on June 22, 2009, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 20 days. Dorothy lived in Michigan for forty years and returned to Dexter in 1989. She had owned the D & C Cafe in Bernie for many years and had worked at Town & County Super Market. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. On November 6, 1948, she was married to Cyril Marchant in Piggott, Arkansas. Surviving are her husband, Cyril Marchant of Dexter, Missouri; three daughters and sons in law: Anna Goodboo, Emma & Wayne Razer and Kathy & Vernon Christian all of Dexter, Missouri; two sons and daughters in law: Jeff & Jennifer Marchant of Topeka, Indiana, Ed & Becky Marchant of Dexter, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; and one sister: Amy Blocker of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survives. Preceding her in death were one brother: Charles Bell and two sons-in-law: Gene Goodboo and Ronald Masters. Friend may call on Wednesday June 24, 2009 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
