Dorothy M. Hester, daughter of the late Nat and Clara Phillips Vincent, was born in Ridgely, Tennessee on July 21, 1932, and passed away at her home near Dexter, Missouri on February 20, 2010, at the age of 77 years.
She was raised in the Dexter area, had lived in Waterford, Michigan for fifty years before moving back to Dexter several years ago. She was a member of the Second General Baptist Church. She had worked as a real estate broker and had owned Hester Realty in Waterford, Michigan. She enjoyed family activities, church and bowling.
On April 16, 1948, she was married to Donald J. Hester in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2008.
Surviving are two sons, David Hester of Dexter, Missouri, Daniel Hester of Fishers, Indiana; one daughter, Monica Elam of Bernie, Missouri; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Peggy Leija of St. Charles, Illinois. Other relatives and friends survive. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Gail Buck.
Mrs. Hester donated her body for medical research. There will be memorial services scheduled at a later date at the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
