Dorothy Louise Gray, the daughter of the late John and Sarah Elizabeth Hale McIntosh, was born near Greenville, Missouri on September 19, 1924, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on February 8, 2007, at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 20 days. She had lived in Puxico, Missouri most of her life. She had worked at the International Shoe Factory in Advance, Missouri, been an AVON representative for several years and had farmed with her husband. She enjoyed flower and vegatable gardening, sewing, crochet, and was an avid fan of bluegrass music. On May 10, 1941, she was married to Harry E. Gray. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2001. Surviving are three daughters, Carolin Hodge of Puxico, Missouri, Juanita & Billy Carrithers of DeSoto, Missouri, Marylin & Leroy Fox of Wappapello, Missouri; five grandchildren, Terri Dempsey, Jeannie Carrithers, Michael Fox, James Hodge, Melinda Lindsey; nine great grandchildren, Bethany Messer, Jordan Emily, Aaron, Sarah & Emily Carrithers, Carrie, Makayla Heather & Jenna Lindsey; two great great grandchildren, Abigail and Clayton Messer; and one half-sister, Lois Curd of DeSoto, three daughters, Carolin Hodge of Puxico, Missouri, Juanita & Billy Carrithers of DeSoto, Missouri, Marylin & Leroy Fox of Wappapello, Missouri; five grandchildren, Terri Dempsey, Jeannie Carrithers, Michael Fox, James Hodge, Melinda Lindsey; nine great grandchildren, Bethany Messer, Jordan Emily, Aaron, Sarah & Emily Carrithers, Carrie, Makayla Heather & Jenna Lindsey; two great great grandchildren, Abagail and Clayton Messer; and one half-sister, Lois Curd of DeSoto, Missouri Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one half-brother, Johnny McIntosh and one half-sister, Reba Curd. Friends may call at the from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 10, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Dean Medlin of Parma, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
