Doris Gaines, daughter of the late Fleary Cirgus and Nellie Hughes Dean Troxell, was born in Dexter on December 28, 1927, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield on June 19, 2010, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 12 days.
Mrs Gaines had lived in Bloomfield all her life. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
On March 15, 1946, she was married to Harold M. Gaines in Dexter.
Surviving are her husband, Harold M. Gaines of Bloomfield; two sons & spouses, Danny & Pamela Gaines of San Antonio, Texas, Gary & Cindy Gaines of Sikeston; four grandchildren, Christina Gaines of Sikeston, Stephanie Greenfield of Dexter, Dawn Pena of San Antonio, Texas, Danny Gaines of Seattle, Washington; five great grandchildren, Sierra Stevens, Savanna Pena & Seth Pena all of San Antonio, Texas, Wyatt and Braxton Greenfield both of Dexter; three sisters, Cordia Seabaugh of Fredericktown, Missouri, Marie Whybark of Crossville, Illinois and Lola Mossman of Milan, Illinois. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at 11:00 AM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will be in the Bloomfield Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
