Doris Gean Darby, daughter of the late William and Pearl Pruett Hartline, was born near Dexter, Missouri on October 12, 1937, and passed away at St. John's Place in Overland, Missouri on March 16, 2013, at the age of 75 years.
She was born and raised in the Dexter and Essex area. She had lived in Florida, St. Louis, and Arkansas. She attended Hope Church in St. Louis, Missouri and had worked at Society Brand Hat Company, Woolworths, and Freds.
On February 21, 1955 she was married to Carl Edward Darby, Sr. in Essex, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2009.
Surviving are one son, Ed Darby of St. Ann, Missouri; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Harrington and Emma Holland both of Batesville, Arkansas; three brothers, Frank Hartline and John Hartline both of Batesville, Arkansas and Dale Hartline of Poplar Bluff, Arkansas. Other family and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Lynn Bryant; and one sister, Margie McGowan; and one brother, Loman Hartline.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 after 9:30 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri, with Bro. Jean Holland of Batesville, Arkansas officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
