Donald Eugene Shepherd

     Donald Eugene Shepherd of Puxico, Missouri, the son of the late Belva Franklin and Georgia Thelma (Page) Shepherd was born on Tuesday, July 23, 1940, in Puxico, Missouri, and was greeted into Jesus loving arms on November 18, 2023, at the age of 83. 
     At the age of 16 he started working at the local grocery store in Puxico and later became the owner of Denny's IGA until he closed it in 1999.  He then became a Rural Mail Carrier at Wappapello for 20 years. 
     He was member of the Life Chapel Assembly of God in Puxico, Missouri where served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and mostly Don loved spending time with his family.   
     Don married the love of his life, Sharon Hayden on April 19, 1960, in Puxico, Missouri.
     Don is survived by his loving wife of the home; two sons, Kevin and wife Nancy Shepherd of Holiday, Florida,  Keith and wife Melissa Shepherd of Puxico; three daughters, Karen and husband Tim Zych of Puxico, Anita and husband Scott Hubbard of Cape Girardeau, Bonita and husband Dale Gregory of Rocky Mount, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Miranda and husband Travis, Courtney, Mindy and husband Tyler, Lacey and husband Alex, Tyler, Tara, Leah, Luke, Will, and Tylor; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb, Haddie, Braylen, Avery, Makenzie,  Sutton, and  Shepherd; one brother, Wayne and wife Betty Shepherd of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of family and friends.          
     Don  was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Kenneth, Roy and Gary Shepherd; three sisters, Lois Estes, Carol Montalvo, and Helen Everhart.  
     Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023,  from 10:00 a.m until 11:00 a.m. at Life Chapel in Puxico, Missouri, with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. and Tim Zych and Dale Gregory officiating.
     Interment will follow at the Duck Creek Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins And Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
     In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to Life Chapel Assembly of God in Puxico, Missouri.
