Donald Bates

Donald H. Bates of Wappapello, Missouri was born to the late Robert and Marie (Pullum) Bates on October 06, 1934 in Leora, Missouri and passed away peacefully in his home on April 01, 2021 in Wappapello, Missouri at the age of 86 years. Donald had been a resident of Wappapello, Missouri for over 40 years. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri. He was a member of the Masons. Donald loved music, horseback riding, fishing, rabbit hunting and spending time with his family and friends. Donald was married to Ada Louis (Cookson) Bates on June 23, 1951 until her death on September 23, 2015. Surviving are his four Edward D Bates of Puxico, Missouri, Sharon Joslin of Wappapello, Missouri, Bruce (Lynn) Bates of Oklahoma and Robert Bates of Wappapello, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Marie Bates; his wife Ada Bates; one grandson Jacob Donald Bates; two brothers Tom Bates and Jim Bates. A host of family and friends also survive. Visitation will be held on Sunday April 04, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Services to be held on Monday April 05, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico with Brother Kenneth Lambert of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
