Don Briggs, the son of the late Walter Edward and Edna Mae McCowen Briggs, was born in Creve Coeur, Missouri on March 8, 1954, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on July 17, 2013, at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 9 days.
He had lived in Creve Coeur, Brentwood, Lake St. Louis and DeSoto, Missouri before moving to Dexter in 2002. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and had been a member of the Rotary Club in Wentzville. He was a licensed Ham Radio Operator and held a patent on an ice detection system that is used on bridges and airport runways.
On November 1, 1996 he was married to Heidi M. Delbo.
Surviving are his wife, Heidi Briggs of Dexter, Missouri; one son, James Briggs of Fayette, Missouri; two daughters, Colleen Fassler of Washington, Missouri, Kati Briggs of Dexter, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Joseph Stonecipher of Washington, Athan and David Briggs of Fayette, Ahrianna Settle of Union, Stephanie Manning of Texas, Elizabeth, Danielle and Matthew Fassler all of Washington; one great grandson, Landon Manning; and one sister, Dottie Jackson of Wentzville, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive.
Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday July 27, 2013, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter Missouri.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Steve Easterwood of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
