Dolly Jackson, daughter of the late Haud Ellis and Francis Gladys Matthews Dunning, was born in Doniphan, Missouri on May 9, 1942, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on July 3, 2015, at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 24 days.
She had lived in the Dexter and Bloomfield area most of her life. She was a member of the Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter. She loved gardening, sewing and crafting for her family.
On June 13, 2009 she was remarried to Bobbie Gene Jackson in Dexter.
Surviving are her husband, Bobbie Gene Jackson of the Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau; two daughters and son in law, Starla Mairs of Bloomfield, Monica & Dennis Thornton of Essex; eight grandchildren, Angela Mitchell, Derrick Rodgers, Amantha Dunning, Deana Davis, Natasha Miller, Andrew Thornton, Joshua Thornton and Riley Thornton; two sisters, Betty Lucille Massey of Bloomfield, Gracie Jones of Moulton, Alabama; and one brother and wife, John H. & Dorothy Dunning of Lodi, Wisconsin; and her cat, Tag, who she loved. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two children in infancy, Tareca & Peggy.
Friends may visit on Monday, July 6, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Ray Rowland of Dexter officiating.
Interment will follow at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
