Debbie McDowell, daughter of Lois McClain Petigo Marshall and the late Kenneth Petigo, was born in Baldwyn, Mississippi on August 20, 1957, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on March 5, 2011, at the age of 53 years, 6 months and 16 days.
She had lived in Southeast Missouri most of her life and had lived in Wappapello Missouri over 20 years before moving to Dexter 2 1/2 years ago. She was baptised in the Apostolic Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are two sons, Doyle McDowell & David McDowell both of Dexter, Missouri; two daughters, Dawn Matney and DeAnna Boyer both of Dexter, Missouri; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Chester Rogers of Florida, Wayne Rogers of West Chicago, Illinois, Kenneth Petigo, Jr. of Doniphan, Missouri; and two sisters, Vicki Teteak of Florida and Patricia Cumpton of Springfield, Missouri. Many other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother in infancy.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, after 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Ellis Marshall of Jonesboro, Arkansas officiating and Karen Fields of Dexter, Missouri assisting.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
