David J. Hyslop

David J. Hyslop of Bloomfield, son of Mildred Irene Hyslop and the late James Calvin Hyslop, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on July 18, 1962, and passed away at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on December 15, 2016, at the age of 54 years, 4 months and 27 days. David had lived in Southeast Missouri all of his life. He had worked as a mechanic and in service and parts departments throughout his career and was a member of the Methodist Church in Dexter. He enjoyed hunting and bluegrass music. On August 15, 1981, he was married to Kathy Jean Palmer in Aquilla, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Kathy Hyslop of Bloomfield, one daughter and husband, Misti & Joe Shuffler of Bloomfield; his mother, Mildred Irene Hyslop of Bloomfield; two grandchildren; two brothers & wives, James Stephen & Kathryn Hyslop of Dexter, Dennis Lee & Susan Hyslop of Bloomfield. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, James Calvin Hyslop, a niece, Sunshine Hyslop and grandfather, Cecil Jarrell Friends may call on Sunday, December 18, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Pastor Michael Woods of Leopold, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
