David D. Griffy, son of the late David Baxter & Betty Jo McGaw Pepper Griffy, was born in Ogden, Utah on September 29, 1954, and passed away at his home at Wappapello, Missouri on July 27, 2010, at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 28 days.
He had lived in Wappapello the past twenty years. He was a licensed pilot and a self employed truck driver. He enjoyed watching Nascar and attending races and being on the lake in his boat. He had served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
On July 15, 2010, he was married to Shari Leigh Click in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Shari Leigh Griffy of Wappapello, Missouri; two sons, Joe McAdoo of Wappapello, Missouri, Shaun Jaco of Jefferson City, Missouri; three daughters, Lisa Ann Griffy of California, Stacie Griffy of Puxico, Missouri; Tiffany Jaco of Texas; six grandchildren; one brother, Jack Griffy of Wappapello, Missouri; and one sister, Sherri Griffy of Boonville, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donnie Griffy.
Visitation will be Friday, July 30, 2010, after 9:30 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Services will be held Friday, July 30, 2010, at 10:30 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico.
Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with full military rites conducted by Missouri Miltary Honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
