Daniel T. Sawyer, the son of the late Cellar and Elnora Hester Sawyer, was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on November 15, 1946, and passed away Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on February 25, 2007, at the age of 60 years, 2 months and 10 days.
He had lived in the Dexter and Bloomfield areas all of his life. He was a custodian and had worked for Dexter Public Schools in Dexter, Missouri. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri.
On October 1, 1977 he was married to Kathy Sue Riney in Puxico, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Sue Sawyer of Dexter, Missouri; one son, Freddie Sawyer of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Debbie Sue Walker of Seattle, Washington; four grandchildren; four sisters, Darlia Owens of Parma, Missouri, Anita Wyatt of Dexter, Missouri, Ann Henson of Festus, Missouri and Barbara Rushin of Providence, Kentucky. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine Scowden.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Don Adams of Matthews, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements. Full military rites will be conducted by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team.
