Connie Hankins, daughter of the late Ed and Edna Russell Layton, was born December 6, 1938, in Bloomfield, Missouri and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on April 2, 2010, at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 27 days.
Mrs. Hankins had lived in Bloomfield all her life. She was a member of the Link Church near Bloomfield, Missouri. She was retired from Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter where she had worked in Environmental Services.
On March 24, 1954, she was married to Tommy Joe Hankins in Bloomfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Tom & Joe Hankins both of Bloomfield, Missouri; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren: two sisters, Virgiinia Cossey of Dexter, Missouri, Dorothy White of Bloomfield, Missouri; one brother, Charles Layton of Tonganoxie, Kansas; and her life long friend, Gladys Holford of Bloomfield, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leoid Layton.
Friends may call on Monday, April 5, 2010, after 10:00 AM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be on Monday, April 5, 2010, at 11:00 AM in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Mike Kohlbaker of Dexter, Missouri and Rev. Michael Schaeffer of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
