Cleveland Taylor, the son of the late John and Ruth Taylor was born in Essex, Missouri on July 5, 1936, and passed away at his home near Essex, Missouri on May 10, 2006, at the age of 69 years, 10 month and 5 days.
Mr. Taylor retired from the Swift Corporation where he worked for thirty years. Cleveland joined church at an early age in Grayridge, MO. He made his home in Pernermon, MO.
On March 7, 2004 he married Bernice Dennis in their home.
Surviving of the home are his wife and grandson: Bernice Taylor and Lamar Dennis of Essex, MO, 1 sister: Ella Mae Guerin of Marion, Indiana, and One sister-in-law Ozlee Taylor of Chicago, Illinois. 3 daughters: Jannie Bell of Sikeston, MO, Tina (Frederick) Norwood of Columbia, MO and Viola (Joe) Lott of Sikeston, 5 sons: Isaiah Dennis of Parma, MO, Vincent (Ruth) Dennis of Malden, MO, Alonzo (Mary) Harris of Sikeston, MO, Archie (Donnie) Dennis of Lawton, OK and Anthony Dennis of Sikeston, MO, 38 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Angela Dennis, 2 brothers: Willie B. and Jerry Taylor, 2 sisters: Willie Mae Clark and Lula Taylor.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 16, 2006, at 12:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, MO with Rev. Moses Grayson of Essex, MO officiating.
Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden, MO.
