Clara Sue Chappell, the daughter of the late Clyde and Fannie Louise Barnes Quinn, was born in Medina, Tennessee on October 10, 1929, and passed away at the Heritage House Nursing Center in Portageville, Missouri on January 31, 2009 at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 21 days.
Mrs. Chappell had lived in Bloomfield, Missouri from 1960, until moving to Portageville in 2000. She was a member of the First Church of God in Portageville, Missouri.
On October 11, 1947, she was married to William Wesley Chappell. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1981.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Marler of Portageville, Missouri, Regina Hux of Essex, Missouri; one son, William Chappell of Cameron, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kelly Marler Ellis, Carmen Hux Touchette, Jason Chappell, Michelle Chappell Coyan and Lacy Jai Hux; and seven great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, after 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at 2:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Pastor Bob Kespelher of Portageville, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
