Chlora E. Gilmer
Chlora E. Gilmer, the daughter of the late Scott and Nettie Jones, was born in Formosa, Arkansas on April 27, 1914, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on June 15, 2005, at the age of 91 years, 1 months and 19 days.
Mrs. Gilmer has lived in Parma, Missouri for the last 65 years. She was a dedicated believer in God and served Him faithfully at the First Baptist Church of Parma and in the community.
On March 25, 1933, she was married to James Leslie (Jim) Gilmer in Bragg City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1987.
Loving survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Jean and Ronnie Wallace of Sikeston, Missouri; Sandra Jo and Alan Matlock of Olive Branch, Mississippi; three grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Jennifer Wallace of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Tracey and Matthew Aubertine of Watertown, New York, James Alan Matlock of Olive Branch, Mississippi; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn Wallace, Maci Wallace, Lydia Wallace and Grace Marie Aubertine; one brother, Barrett Glenn (Bob) Jones of Lakeside, California. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Carlton; one sister, Athlyn Duncan; and one brother, Ancil Jones.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, June 17, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Parma, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 2:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church in Parma, Missouri with the Bro. John Girdley of Parma, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma, Missouri in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.watkinsfuneralhome.com.
