Chester Walters

Chester G. "Chet" Walters, son of the late Ralph B. and Letha McGehee Walters, was born in Dexter, Missouri on April 18, 1921, and passed away at the Cypress Point Health Care in Dexter, Missouri on April 15, 2009, at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 28 days. Mr. Walters had lived in Dexter, Missouri all his life. He was a farmer and a member of the Vinson General Baptist Church near Dexter, Missouri. On April 27, 1940, he was married to Essie Lee Wicks in Dexter, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Essie Lee Walters of Dexter, Missouri; three daughters, Norma Jean Jackson of Dexter, Missouri, Elnora Bernard of Reedsville, Ohio, Janice Sue Allen of Geneva, Illinois; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Lee Walters and Ralph Walters, Jr. Friends may call on Friday, April 17, 2009, after 12:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009, at 2:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Rick Roberts of Essex, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
