Charlie Lee Hankins, Sr., son of the late Sarah Hankins, was born in Collierville, Tennessee on April 15, 1939, and passed away at his home in Sikeston, Missouri on June 21, 2013, at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 6 days.
He had lived in Sikeston most of his life and had been a self employed painting and dry wall contractor. He was a member of the New Deliverance Outreach Ministries in Sikeston.
On May 21, 1994, he was married to Clara M. Wynn.
Surviving are his wife, Clara M. Hankins of Sikeston; one daughter, DeArmond Denise Wofford of Kansas City, Missouri; two sons, Charlie Lee Hankins, Jr. and Sheldon Vidal Hankins both of Leavenworth, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren; a special friend, Jack Nelson of Jackson, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Emil Orlando Hankins; one step son, James Erving; and two sisters, Shirley Ann Lawrence and Florida Robinson.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, after 11:00 a.m. at the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. at the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston, Missouri with the Rev. Ron Williams of Sikeston, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
